Nerissa Hutchinson
Nerissa is a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) and currently a student at Toronto Metropolitan University with plans to pursue her Masters in Counselling Psychology degree.
She’s a dedicated mother, advocate and board member of the Sawubona Africentric Circle of Support and a member of the Black Parent Support Group supporting Black families and caregivers with disabilities and disability rights.
Nerissa works to support children, youth and their families while she navigates and seeks out the best social services available to assist families’ unique challenges within their communities. She is also a mentor for the Community Living Youth Mentorship Program.
In her spare time, Nerissa is an avid runner and hiker who enjoys painting, gardening, sketching and designing Steampunk, Afrofuturism and Alternative jewellery and accessories.
