Lucy Fernandes

Lucy has been in the field of social services for 37 years mainly as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) . She provided support in a variety of settings that include group homes, treatment centres, cooperative living programs, case management roles, schools and support within her own private practice.

She had the opportunity to volunteer in India, and worked with women from rural communities. During her work in India, she established relationships with women supporting their developmental skills boosting their confidence and overall independence.

Her passion for helping others is what continues to drive her on the life journey. Firm believer, and of the mindset that we should all be giving back to the communities we live in.

Lucy works from an anti-oppressive framework and believes strongly in advocating for children, youth and women’s rights around the world. Lucy uses her lived experiences to empower others to strive for excellence.
